In a strop...

Transferred from MySpace.

Way back in the mists of time (well several months ago at least), I wrote a blog which was little more than a frustrated rant about the type of people that were contacting me, and their reasons for doing so.

I want to add to that rant (on the remote off-chance that someone reads it before contacting me).

For some reason, there seems to be a huge influx of people wanting to be friends at the moment (all men) - in fact, yesterday I got emails from 7 different people wanting to be my friend (oh, and a friend request from someone else).

The friend request was made out of the blue - I have no idea who this person is or why he thinks that we could or should be friends. Maybe if he'd put a little effort into his request (a girl likes to be wined and dined a bit you know), then I might not have deleted him straight off.

The emails weren't desperately inspiring either - most of them had two lines of text maximum and followed this general format:

"Love the photos... let's be friends"
"The UK is lucky to have two moons" (apparently I am one of them)
"Nice eyes, have fun"

(etc... etc...)

For those of you who've been paying attention, I haven't added many friends to my site. This isn't due to a lack of offers, but simply because I'm picky.

Think about it... if a complete stranger came up to you in the street and said 'let's be friends' you'd probably back away from them sharpish. If however they struck up a conversation with you and it turned out that you had things in common, then friendship would no doubt follow.

THIS boys and girls is the way to catch my attention.

Make an effort. It doesn't have to be a huge effort, but some would be appreciated. Read my profile, find out what we have in common, hey... maybe you could even consider reading my blog (rants included).

To those individuals who miss out this important piece of etiquette, I shall be deleting your requests and your emails from this point on (or maybe I'll just send you a link to this blog) - sorry, but I just don't have time to send out any more polite 'who are you' emails.

Having ranted, I risk no one wanting to be my friend EVER...

...I can live with this.
